This will be our second year out on the river after buying a spot at the Port Tobacco RV resort last spring. Last year we started with an older 20' Mako to find out how much we would enjoy the river...we did. So this year we have stepped up to a 1987 SeaRay Amberjack 270. Can't wait for it to warm up. Spent time last year at Tim's 2 and Gilligans but mostly swimming and swinging off tree ropes on the Port Tobacco. Plan on some longer runs this year and will be checking out the forum frequently for opportunities to meet up at events.

    Hey Robert,

Sorry I missed this post earlier...
Glad to meet you... Hey, you got a good spot up there at Chapel Point - we love taking our daughter up there to chill with the kids.
    Love the barge up there...

We are out of Aquia Creek but spent a good portion of our earlier days up North at Belmont Bay, Occoquan, Mattawoman, Alexandria, DC.

Still go up there from time to time - as gas prices allow :-)

Still waiting on new to us boat to be finished and delivered. Did get a chance to check it out last week at mechanic and it looks great cleaned up with new bottom paint. Waiting on new 350 port motor and two almost new alpha 1 outdrives to be installed. When all is said and done she will have 0 hours on port motor 50 hours on starboard motor and approximately 15 hours on both outdrives I hope this re-power will provide us with many years of trouble free travels.

With this weather we have been having I may want to move up the delivery date which is tentatively scheduled for April 1.

We are looking at leasing a boat lift in our campground for the new Searay. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I have never used or messed around with a lift. The one we are looking at is a two post elevator style with, what looks like, a 10k capacity. I need to reach out to the owner who never used their site last year to find out specs and if they are interested in leasing.

Yeah, you'll want the boat come April 1. Never messed with a lift either - but one big word of advice...
Make sure you know the low tide marks when you use it. Always lower the lift all the way down...
Seen a few folks drop off the lift at high tide, return home at low tide, and find their lift out of the water :-)
